Dao Vien Monastery is located at: 1810 Nuttal Ave, Edgewood, MD 21040. (The Monastery is a 40-minute drive from Baltimore airport (BWI) and only one-hour drive from Washington, D.C.).
Dao Vien Monastery always welcomes those who want to stay for a short time to practice.
For practitioners, from 20 to 55 years old, who wish to become monastic and regardless of their gender, the monastery is always ready to accept them after an aspirant period to consider their suitability.
From 2019 to present, our monastics and lay people have made efforts to renovate and build more living areas such as monk residence, dining hall, nun residence, and Suoi Trang Hut, creating favorable conditions for lay people from far away to come and stay and to practice.
Every year, the Monastery organizes some retreats, including spring, summer, fall season retreats, Vesak ceremony, Vu Lan ceremony, Mid-Autumn festival, and Lunar New Year celebration, with the participation of Venerable Monastics from other places.
Every Sunday, there are meditation sessions and Dharma talks. In addition, online Buddhist courses are also organized to support lay people living far away.
